  There are approximately 215 students in grades Pre-K through 8. St. Bartholomew School enjoys economic, social and ethnic diversity within the student body. The majority of the students are Catholic, however many other religious traditions are represented.
  
  As a 2011 National Blue Ribbon Award winning school, St. Bartholomew offers a strong academic program that serves a variety of learning styles and abilities in a safe and loving environment. Students are challenged to work hard and to strive to reach their goals. We are creating future leaders of the world with our emphasis on Christian values, respect, responsibility and teamwork. As educators, we will foster this growth every step of the way by modeling Christian values and using “teachable moments” to discuss “what would Jesus do” when faced with difficult decisions.
  
  Founded in 1982, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students' academic achievement. A National Blue Ribbon Schools flag overhead has become a mark of excellence in education recognized by everyone from parents to policy-makers in thousands of communities. Since the program's founding, the U. S. Department of Education has bestowed this coveted award on more than 7,000 of America's schools.
  
  On a personal note, Saint Bartholomew students espouse and exhibit disciplined behavior, which is promoted by the teachers and staff. The public schools in Montgomery County are excellent, but disciplined student behavior is not their strong suit overall.
